Do you have questions about facelifts? Our own Dr. Cameron Chesnut answers common questions in this video taken at last week's American Society of Dermatologic Surgery conference. Watch below!
Did you know that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime? Like snowflakes, no two skin cancers are the same. A variety of different skin cancer treatment options are available, including cryosurgery (freezing), surgical excision, radiation therapy, and more. These types of treatments may be appropriate in some cases, but sometimes a more precise method of removal is ideal. When skin cancers are in critical areas such as the face, neck, or hands, patients hope for a good cosmetic and functional result after their surgery. Mohs micrographic surgery is a state-of-the-art, accurate, and microscopic method for the precise removal of skin cancer that takes your cancerous tissue away and leaves your healthy skin intact.
In addition to having the highest likelihood of a good cosmetic result, Mohs micrographic surgery also has the highest cure rate of any treatment option, up to 99% for most tumors. Mohs surgery is often performed on skin cancers that have recurred after previous treatment, are located in scar tissue, have edges that are ill-defined, or are large or grow rapidly.
Dr. Cameron Chesnut is fellowship-trained in Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive plastic surgery, and cosmetic surgery. This unique integration allows Dr. Chesnut to completely and accurately remove skin cancer while leaving you with the best functional and cosmetic reconstructive result. Please call our office at 509-456-8444 to discuss your need for consultation and treatment with Dr. Chesnut.
